●今日うまくいかなかったこと・失敗
・EPOCで外科症例レポートを書かなければならないということで、手術所見を書いてみた。あまり関係がうまくいっていないすぐ上の外科の先生にみてもらおうとしたところ、そんなことしなくていいよ、と言われた。…教えてもらえるほど仕事をしていないということなのだろう。他にもよく、手伝おうとすると、やらなくていいよ、と言われる。不確定要素が入るのが面倒なのだろう。
指導医には、学生ではないし給料もらっているのだから仕事しろ、と言われる。けれど、与えられている仕事は、朝早く来て患者を診るだけこと、午前の回診にただくっついていること、午後の手術にただ参加すること。「仕事」ではないと思う。けれど、振り返ってみると、黙々とそれをこなすと、合間合間にいろいろ教えてもらえたり、ちょこちょこやらせてもらえたりした。
…そうか。雑用をやって指導医の時間を作れば教えてもらえる、と最初に言われ自分にできる雑用はなにかあるのかと懸命に探しても何もなくて右往左往していたのだが、そうではなくて、黙々と言われたことをリズムよくこなしていくことが、外科の研修では大切なのか。
いずれにせよ、研修最初で関係をうまくつくれなかったし、あとの時間はこなしていくしかないのかな…。
●今の気持ち・今後学びたいこと・気づいたこと
・すぐ上の先生が今日の手技には苦労していたけれど、なかなか上の先生に変わってもらわないで自分でやり遂げようとするところに、自分が外科的にはよくない考え方を持っていたのだと、気づいた。自分は手技に苦労するとすぐ上の先生に変わってもらう。自分の何がいけないのか、上の先生の手技を自分が苦労したポイントに絞って観察させてもらいたくなるからだ。けれど、外科的には、試行錯誤しやり遂げる根性がないと、へたくそ、と思われていくのかもしれない。
